Warri-Sapele-Benin Road Decay Threatens Economy, Lives -Group

The Niger Delta Youth Council (NDYC) has called on President Bola Tinubu to order the immediate rehabilitation of the Warri-Sapele-Benin Highway, warning that its poor state is crippling businesses and endangering lives.

In an open letter signed by its leader, Bene Mamamu, the group stated that the road which is a critical trade route linking several states is now plagued by daily accidents, stranded trucks, and deep water-filled potholes. They said the neglect poses a serious risk of fatal explosions from toppled tankers.

The NDYC urged the Federal Government to fast-track repairs, stressing that every delay worsens the economic downturn in the Niger Delta region.
