NNPC Boss Ojulari Resumes Amid Resignation Rumours

The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Bayo Ojulari, resumed duties on Monday, quelling widespread speculation about his resignation. Reports had surfaced over the weekend alleging that Ojulari had stepped down, but his arrival at the NNPCL headquarters around 9:35 am put the matter to rest.

A source familiar with the development confirmed that the GCEO was engaged in his regular official activities shortly after arriving, while an internal memo advised staff to disregard social media claims of his exit.Warri Sentinel learnt that the source gave no details on his absence prior to Monday.

Ojulari, appointed by President Bola Tinubu in April 2025 during a major shake-up of the oil firm’s management, had faced a weekend of intense speculation as neither he nor the company commented on the rumours until his return.
