Family Confirms Death of Former Warri South LG Chairman at 65

The family of former Warri South Local Government Area Chairman and former Delta State Commissioner for Health, Chief Dr. Joseph Sisanmi Otumara, has confirmed his death at the age of 65.
In a statement issued on behalf of the family and signed by Mr. Gbubemi Otumara, the family announced that the respected politician, administrator and traditional chief passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026.
Chief Otumara, who held the title of Obarisuwa of Warri Kingdom, was a prominent figure in Delta State politics and public service, having served as Chairman of Warri South LGA and later, as Commissioner for Health during the administration of former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.
Announcing his passing, the family said described the late Otumara as a dedicated public servant who remained actively involved in governance and party activities until his death.
The state said funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
