The  Avalanche of Misconceptions and Hogwashing of Well Established Facts by Distorters of History.

Our attention has been drawn to the deliberate paddling of misconceptions, historical facts and unsubstantiated claims and hogwash of long aged truth as it concerns the proposed wards in Warri federal Constituency delineation exercise that was conducted by the Nigerian Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) – these unscrupulous elements that can be best described as ‘Distorters of Historical facts’.

The INEC proposed wards in the Warri Federal Constituency is at best a lucid attempt to adjust Itsekiri Boundaries that has been in existence for time immemorial. In the case Idundun v Okumagba, (1976) 9-10 SC 227, the Nigeria Supreme court granted possession rights of a certain amount of land to Okumagba and his kins hence the term ‘ Urhobos of Warri South’ was created. Apart from that case, the Urhobos have no claims whatsoever to any part of Warri South. The Itsekiri People are the legal owners of the Agbassa Land by virtue of the Supreme court case of Ometan v. Dore Numa.

Also the Court decided that the Ijaws have no stalk whatsoever in Warri South. It is an absolute misnomer and an aberration for INEC to undergo the illegal acts of boundary adjustment. What on earth can justify the proposed creation of 3 wards for the Ijaws in Warri South when the court have said that the Ijaws are aliens to Warri South as concerns legal ownership of land. A simple answer is foul play.

The Hausas, Igbos are other ethnic groups do exist in Warri South, why didn’t INEC create wards for them? It is illegal to delineate and create Wards in favour of a particular ethnic group that does not legally own the said land hence the 3 wards granted to the Ijaws in Warri South cannot stand because it is unacceptable and an instrument of tribal oppression and suppression.

Before the proposed creation of more wards for the Urhobos and the ijaws in the 3 Warris, the Itsekiris has more wards. What changed? Where did INEC find the legal materials to create more wards for the Urhobos yet INEC could not find the legal materials to create more wards for the Itsekiris both in Warri North and Warri South West.

It is crystal clear that INEC is attempting to swim in muddy waters that may put it on the left side of Nigeria history if these sham called proposed wards in the Warri Federal Constituency is made to be operational- the Itsekiri People will resist these premeditated onslaughts against her and her lands because in our righteous might, we will hold INEC accountable as we are astonished by these show of stentorian shamelessness and flagrant disrespect for existing court judgements and the rule of law.

INEC should as a matter of urgency resist the temptation of acting as a State Actor for the oppression of the Itsekiri People and her lands that will echo in perpetuity in the sounds of time.

We have also observed without astonishment the sudden unholy alliances that has been formed between the Ijaws and Urhobos for the sole purpose of annihilating the Itsekiri people from their ancestral home.

The Ijaws and Urhobos seems to have forgotten the historical fact that the Itsekiri people have never be conquered by any tribe in Nigeria. The Ijaws and Urhobos should refrain from making statements that are not in consonance with the truth and history.

It is on good record and even Asari Dokunbo and others have confirmed that the whole Ijaw Nations attacked the Itsekiri People during the last crisis yet the Itsekiri People was not conquered.

These nefarious calls for war against the Itsekiri people by these warmongers who parades themselves as tribal jingoists and bigots do not scare us as the Itsekiri people have seen and have been fighting wars for more the 400 years now yet we have outlast all our enemies by the special grace and Providence of our good Ancestors because we are the Israel of Nigeria.

More particularly, we saw the the reckless and ignoble videos of one cognitively impaired sycophant who goes by the unpopular name of Micheal Johnny.

For the sake of character stratification, it will be crass glorification if we join issues with a shenanigan who can not speak eruditely with the Queen’s English for 40 seconds.

In all, these carefully planned and money orientated injustices that is being perpetuated against the Itsekiri People by INEC will not stand.
