Police Arrest Cultists Linked to Port Harcourt Gang Killings
The Rivers State Police Command has arrested two suspected cultists believed to be behind a series of violent clashes in the Diobu area of Port Harcourt that left at least five people dead, including a cab driver struck by a stray bullet.
In a statement issued Wednesday, police spokesperson SP Grace Iringe-Koko said the arrest of 36-year-old Diseye Ukulu led to the capture of a second suspect and the recovery of firearms, including a Scorpion submachine gun, a Beretta pistol, and live ammunition.
Ukulu was reportedly apprehended at his Diobu residence through a joint operation involving the Special Operations and Intelligence Team, the Hawk Tactical Squad, the Anti-Cultism Unit, and local vigilantes.
Commissioner of Police Olugbenga Adepoju reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks and urged residents to support security efforts with timely information.
