Isoko North Chairman Marks First Year in Office
The Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area, Prince Godwin Ogorugba, has marked one year in office, with his administration drawing praise for improvements in infrastructure, social services, and community engagement.
Prince Ogorugba, who assumed office in July 2024, said the past year had been focused on laying a solid foundation for long-term development and inclusive governance.
“Our vision has always been centred on people-first leadership,” the chairman said during a brief event at the council secretariat in Ozoro.
The Special Adviser to the Chairman, Comrade Erero Oloku, said the anniversary was a moment to reflect on what he called meaningful and people-centred achievements.
In a statement, Mr Oloku commended the chairman’s visionary leadership and cited several key developments under the administration, including road rehabilitation projects, school infrastructure upgrades, and health-focused community outreach programmes.
Analysts and community leaders have credited the Ogorugba-led council with fostering unity and strengthening local participation in governance through an open-door policy.
Local residents also point to improved access to council services and greater responsiveness to grassroots concerns.
Isoko North is located in Delta State’s oil-producing region and includes several rural and semi-urban communities. Governance in the area has often faced challenges relating to infrastructure, youth unemployment, and social services.
Mr Ogorugba said his administration would continue to prioritise inclusive development, with planned projects in rural electrification, market modernisation, and youth empowerment in the year ahead.
The chairman called on residents to continue supporting the administration’s efforts to deliver on its development goals.
