Gunmen Reportedly Kidnap Army Officer in Bomadi Midnight Attack

An Army officer has been kidnapped during a late-night attack on a lodge in Bomadi, Delta State.

The officer, identified as Lt.-Col. Josiah, had just returned from a wedding ceremony in Kpakiama community before gunmen stormed the lodge around 2 a.m. Witnesses said the attackers moved from room to room, seizing mobile phones from guests and shooting into the air before taking him away. Blood was reportedly found at the scene.

According to Sahara Reporters, the vehicle used in the operation was later discovered abandoned in Tuomo community along the Tuomo-Ogbobagbene-Tamigbe-Torugbene-Ojobo road. Security forces have recovered the vehicle and intensified patrols across Bomadi and surrounding areas.

The police in Delta State have not commented on the abduction. Calls to the command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, went unanswered.
