Atiku’s Resignation Letter Leaked by Political Opponents -Aide
Media adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Paul Ibe says the letter announcing Atiku’s resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was leaked by political opponents seeking to sabotage his ambitions.
Speaking during a TV interview on Wednesday night, Ibe claimed that the document, dated July 14 and addressed to Atiku’s local ward chairman in Adamawa State, was never intended for immediate public release.
“This was the work of individuals both within the PDP and their collaborators in the APC who have long opposed Atiku’s political trajectory,” Ibe said.
“Yes, the letter was leaked, not officially released.”
He also took aim at Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, for commenting on the resignation. Ibe accused him of diverting attention from pressing issues in the aviation sector.
“The minister should be addressing safety concerns, runway maintenance, and critical infrastructure, not inserting himself into political matters he knows little about,” he said.
Ibe added that those speculating on the reasons for Atiku’s resignation were merely stirring controversy during a time of national mourning following the burial of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
