21-year-old woman arrested for stabbing partner in Delta
Police in Delta State have arrested a 21-year-old woman accused of fatally stabbing her partner during a quarrel.
The woman, named Lilian, told investigators she acted after being beaten with a cane and pushed to the ground. She said she stabbed the 34-year-old man in the chest with a kitchen knife when he moved toward her during the altercation.
The couple had lived together for four years without formal marriage and had two children. Lilian, who left school in Senior Secondary Two, admitted the quarrel began after her partner said he wanted to end their relationship.
Police spokesperson Bright Edafe called the incident tragic and urged parents to pay closer attention to their children’s upbringing. He said the case underlined the dangers of domestic violence and the need for stronger community awareness.
