Ughelli South Youth Gets ₦1m Business Support
A young entrepreneur in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State has received a major boost following the release of a ₦1 million business support fund to kick-start his retail venture.
The intervention was facilitated through FOOSTODEY, with the backing of the Delta State Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Comrade Reuben Izeze. The entire sum was donated by U.S.-based consultant and paediatrician, Dr. Anani Anthony, to fully stock a newly rented shop for beneficiary, Mr. Alex Bushell, in Oginibo.
Mr. Bushell had earlier benefited from a ₦200,000 grant under the Hon. Festus Eseoghene Utuama Empowerment Scheme, which enabled him to secure the shop space. However, additional funding was required to commence operations.
With the shop now fully stocked, community members have hailed the initiative as a practical step toward reducing youth unemployment. Organisers reaffirmed their commitment to partnerships that promote self-reliance and sustainable economic growth in Ughelli South and the wider Ughievwen Kingdom.
