TikTok Comedian Peller Safe, Not Abducted – Police

The Lagos State Police Command has assured the public that TikTok comedian Habeeb Hamzat, better known as Peller, was not kidnapped as widely speculated online. Panic had spread on Thursday after a viral video appeared to show the entertainer being dragged from his car by armed men during a heated confrontation.

The clip, which circulated across multiple platforms, ended abruptly after Peller questioned why a gun was pointed at him. The sudden cut fueled rumours that he had been taken away against his will, with many of his followers calling on authorities to act.

Police spokesman CSP Benjamin Hundeyin said the situation was exaggerated, stressing that Peller was safe and not abducted. He explained that checks confirmed the comedian’s vehicle and personal belongings were untouched and that he was at home.

Hundeyin warned against the circulation of unverified claims, noting that such reports only create unnecessary panic. He added that investigations into the incident were still in progress.
