SARS Remains Dissolved – Nigerian Police Force

The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed rumors circulating about the potential return of the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) under a reformed set of guidelines.

In a statement issued on Monday, February 10 from Abuja, the Force’s Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, reaffirmed that SARS, which was dissolved on October 11, 2020, remains permanently disbanded.

“The Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) is not back in operation,” ACP Adejobi said. “Recent information regarding SARS reformation and rules of engagement rules should be treated with caution. ”

The police spokesperson urged Nigerians to rely on trustworthy sources for information, advising the public to follow the official social media handles of the Nigeria Police Force for accurate updates

He concluded by stressing the importance of staying informed and vigilant.
