Sapele Council Chairman Donates Learning Materials To Students
The Chairman of Sapele Local Government Council, Hon. Bright Abeke, has donated over 5,000 notebooks to pupils and students in the area, Warri Sentinel has learnt.
The presentation took place on Wednesday, October 2, at the Sapele Local Government Group of Schools in Sapele, Delta State. According to Abeke, the initiative aims to ease the financial burden on parents facing economic hardship. He was motivated to take action after hearing about a parent who could not afford notebooks for their child, which affected the student’s ability to participate in class.
“This project reflects the M.O.R.E Agenda of His Excellency, Sheriff Oborevwori,” Abeke noted. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that every child in the community has access to essential educational resources.
Additionally, the Chairman urged parents who have hesitated to enroll their children in school due to financial constraints to consider the free, quality education provided at the local government school. Pupils and students expressed their gratitude for the donation, while Head Teachers Mrs. Igweh Eromarhua and Mrs. Aghogho Oke praised both the Council Chairman and the Delta State Governor for their commitment to enhancing educational opportunities in the area.
