A joint security operation in Delta State has led to the successful rescue of a kidnap victim abducted in Abraka earlier this month. The victim was taken on April 1, 2026, after armed men invaded a residence at Denedo Extension and whisked him away into the bush.
Acting on a distress report, the Divisional Police Officer in Abraka deployed patrol teams, working alongside local vigilantes and hunters to trace the suspects. The search effort pushed deep into the forest, narrowing in on the kidnappers’ location.
Faced with mounting pressure from the advancing security team, the abductors fled, leaving the victim behind. He was later found near a railway line during the coordinated search.
Police spokesperson Bright Edafe confirmed that the victim was unharmed and safely reunited with his family. He added that intelligence gathered from the operation is aiding efforts to track down the fleeing suspects.
