Police Inspector Stabbed to Death, Two Arrested

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested two men in connection with the killing of a police inspector in Akure’s Arakale axis. The officer was reportedly stabbed during an altercation at Oke-Arata, triggering panic as residents fled the scene.

Police spokesperson Olayinka Ayanlade said the inspector was rushed to the hospital but died while receiving treatment. The suspects, identified as Shina Jacob (25) and Felix Olalekan (32), were detained following an urgent operation ordered by the Commissioner of Police.

The killing occurred just days after an NSCDC personnel was also stabbed in Akure, deepening concerns over rising violent attacks in the state. The police have intensified patrols as part of an ongoing effort to curb criminal activity.
