Police Arrest Suspects in Murder of Port Harcourt Lawyer
Rivers State Police have apprehended seven suspected cultists in connection with the killing of Bright Owhor, a Port Harcourt-based lawyer who was shot on July 5, 2025. The suspects were arrested after a 10-day intelligence operation led by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit.
Police spokesperson SP Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed that the suspects confessed to the murder and admitted withdrawing funds from the victim’s bank account. They also linked themselves to recent cult attacks in the Diobu area of Port Harcourt.
Recovered from the suspects were firearms, ammunition, a SIM card, a Toyota Camry, and a mini bus. The suspects, identified as members of the Deygbam Secret Cult, remain in custody as investigations continue.
