Passengers Key to Curbing Reckless Driving —FRSC

A decline in road accident deaths in Delta State has been recorded following a special enforcement patrol by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), prompting renewed calls for passengers to challenge reckless driving.

The Sector Commander, Joyce Alexander, revealed that 10 fatalities were recorded between mid-December 2025 and mid-January 2026, a notable reduction from the same period the previous year.

She attributed the improvement to stricter enforcement, mobile court operations and increased patrols, which led to over 1,200 arrests for traffic violations.

Despite the gains, the FRSC warned that sustained vigilance is necessary and urged commuters to speak up when drivers engage in dangerous conduct.
