Osanebi Backs ‘Light Up Ndokwa’ Electricity Protest

A former Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi, has thrown his weight behind the upcoming “Light Up Ndokwa” protest scheduled for Monday, June 16, 2025.

The protest seeks to draw attention to the persistent lack of electricity in Ndokwa communities, particularly Kwale, despite the region’s economic contributions.

In a statement from Asaba, Osanebi described the ongoing power outage as “disheartening,” saying many towns in Ndokwa remain off the national grid, forcing residents to rely on expensive alternatives.

He stressed that his support was based on concern for the welfare of the people and not political motives, adding that failure to back the protest equates to being “anti-Ndokwa.”

Osanebi also called on protest organisers to ensure demonstrations remain peaceful and focused on demanding government action to restore electricity to the area.
