Okpebholo Sworn in as Edo State Governor, Promises an Inclusive Tenure
Senator Monday Okpebholo has been officially sworn in as the new governor of Edo State, vowing to run an inclusive government focused on the welfare of all citizens. The oath of office was administered by the state’s Chief Justice, Daniel Okungbowa, on Tuesday, November 12, in a ceremony held at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
Okpebholo, who took over from Godwin Obaseki after his second term in office, was joined by his deputy, Denis Idahosa, who was also sworn in. The event was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside several APC governors and party leaders.
In his inaugural address, Okpebholo pledged to govern with transparency and inclusivity, promising to serve the people of Edo State with dedication. He reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the constitution and prioritising the development and well-being of the state’s citizens.
