Okpebholo Appoints Oshiomhole’s Son and Others to Cabinet

The newly sworn-in Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has announced key appointments to his cabinet, just hours after taking office on Tuesday, November 12.

One of the most notable appointments is Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole, the son of former Governor Adams Oshiomhole, who has been nominated as Commissioner for Health. Oshiomhole, who currently represents Edo North in the Senate, played a significant role in securing Okpebholo’s election victory.

This follows Okpebholo’s earlier appointment of Fred Itua as his Chief Press Secretary.

In a further move, Samson Osagie, a former member of the National Assembly, has been nominated to serve as the State’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice while Musa Ikhilor has appointed as Secretary to the State Government (SGG).

According to a statement from the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, the nominations of Osagie and Oshiomhole are subject to confirmation by the Edo State House of Assembly once submitted by Governor Okpebholo.
