Okorodudu Appointed DESOPADEC Director as Oborevwori Swears in New Board
Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has issued a stern warning to public officials, stating that his administration will take decisive action against anyone found lacking in their duties or whose behavior contradicts the state’s vision. The Governor made the statement on Wednesday during the swearing-in and inauguration of new chairmen and members of various commissions and boards in Asaba.
At the ceremony, notable appointments included Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu as the new Executive Director (Projects) at the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), replacing Tebite. Other key appointments were Joshua Onoriode Oborevwori as Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, and AIG David Igbodo (rtd) as Chairman of the Delta State Public Procurement Commission.
Governor Oborevwori, in his address, stressed the importance of public service in advancing the state’s development under the MORE agenda. He described the newly sworn-in officials as individuals with proven track records, capable of leveraging their knowledge and experience for the growth of the state. He stressed that true leadership is about serving the people, prioritizing their needs, and being an example to others.
The Governor made it clear that his administration would not tolerate any form of misconduct, stating. He emphasized that these principles would apply to all the newly inaugurated officials, including those serving on boards such as the Delta State Waste Management Board, Delta State Urban Water Board, and the Delta State Traffic Management Authority.
Other notable appointments included Chief Joe Arausi as Chairman of the Delta State Urban Water Board and Chief Peter Idion as Chairman of the Delta State Traffic Management Authority. The Delta State Tourism Board will be chaired by Rt. Hon. Christopher Ochor, with Chief Mrs. Esther Okotie Eboh and others serving as members.
Speaking on behalf of the new appointees, Rt. Hon. Christopher Ochor expressed sincere gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for the opportunity to serve, vowing to uphold the principles of servant leadership and to work towards realizing the Governor’s vision for Delta State.
