As Oyovbaire Advocates for the Establishment of a Higher Institution In Sapele
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has disclosed that the Okirighwre-Benin Road in Sapele LGA has been awarded and will be completed in 2025, Warri Sentinel has learnt.
Oborevwori, speaking through his Commissioner for Works (Rural and Riverine Roads), Charles Aniagwu disclosed this at the inaugural re-union and business summit hosted by the Sapele Memories Development Foundation at the Sapele Athletics Club on Friday September 27. The Commissioner outlined Governor Oborevwori’s plans for over 15 kilometers of internal roads in the LGA.
Aniagwu commended the Foundation for aligning with Governor Oborevwori’s vision of unity and development in Delta State.
While disclosing that the Okirighwre-Benin Road has been awarded, with completion expected by May next year, Aniagwu reassured participants that substantial financial mobilization has been provided to contractors to expedite the projects, signaling a renewed focus on economic revitalization in Sapele.
According to him, the Governor’s administration is pursuing development initiatives across all three senatorial districts in Delta, including the fast-tracking of the Ughelli-Asaba Expressway. He stressed that peace and security are crucial for attracting investment, urging community leaders to foster dialogue to maintain stability.
In his address, chairman of the event, Professor Sam Oyovbaire called for the establishment of a higher institution in Sapele to improve economic activities.
HRM Felix Mujakperuo (rtd), the Orodje of Okpe, echoed the need for community action in addressing insecurity and restoring Sapele’s former glory.
The event attracted various dignitaries across Delta Central Senatorial District.
