Ogorugba Reflects On His Challenging Path To Isoko North Chairmanship
The Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area, Godwin Ogorugba, has reflected on the challenges he faced during his election campaign, attributing his success to divine guidance.
Speaking at a thanksgiving service on Sunday, 28 October 2024, at the Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel) in Ozoro, Ogorugba expressed deep gratitude for his journey through two terms as the Isoko North PDP chairman and his recent election as council chairman.
Recounting his journey to becoming the council’s leader, Ogorugba stated that it was not an easy battle to assume the role of chairman of Isoko North Council, adding that many petitions were written against him. However, throughout the process, the church supported him with fasting and prayers. He dedicated his victory to God, Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, community leaders, and the people of Isoko North who supported him throughout his campaign.
Pastor Raphael Asotie, who led the service, emphasized the importance of gratitude in his sermon titled “Engaging the Wonder of Praise.” He referenced Psalm 150:6 and Habakkuk 3:17-19, stating that praise can bring clarity and fulfillment to God’s work in one’s life.
The thanksgiving celebration concluded with a reception at Ogorugba’s residence in Otor-Igho, where notable political figures, including Chief Kome Okpobor, Hon. Bino Owhede, and others, gathered to attend.
