Oborevwori to Commission Erejuwa, Olomoro-Igbide Roads at 2nd Anniversary

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is set to inaugurate a series of infrastructure projects to mark the second anniversary of his administration.

The announcement was made by the state’s Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, during a press briefing in Asaba on Wednesday.

Key projects include the Beneku Bridge, Ishiagu-Ewulu Road and Bridge, the Upper and Lower Erejuwa Roads in Warri, as well as erosion control work in Okpanam. Other roads set for commissioning include the Olomoro-Igbide Road, Otolokpo to Boji-Boji Owa, Akumazi-Owere-Olubor Road, and Obi-Ibabu Road.

Mr Aniagwu said the state government has achieved notable progress in rural and coastal development, with ongoing work on the Trans-Warri bridges and access roads in Ode-Itsekiri serving as a key example. He also confirmed that construction has resumed on the Ayakoromo Bridge in Burutu Local Government Area, a project aimed at connecting remote coastal communities to the mainland.

In the health sector, the commissioner noted that new medical equipment has been installed at major hospitals across the state, including facilities in Asaba, Warri, and Oghara.

Mr Aniagwu dismissed claims of waning momentum in governance, saying the administration remains focused on delivery despite growing political activity ahead of future elections.

The commissioner stated that Governor Oborevwori has instructed cabinet members and agency heads to prioritise service delivery, adding that project payments are made only after proper certification to ensure accountability.
