Oborevwori, Okowa, Elumelu Join Delta PDP Chairman, Arenyeka For Thanksgiving

Political leaders and party members gathered at Avenue Baptist Church in Warri, Delta State, on Sunday, November 17, 2024, to celebrate the election of Chief Solomon Arenyeka as the new State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Speaker Emomotimi Guwor, and Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme were among the prominent figures who gathered to show their support for Arenyeka at the Thanksgiving.

In his address, Governor Oborevwori praised Arenyeka for his humility and dedication, urging him to use his new leadership role to foster unity both within the party and across the state. “Your respect has already been earned, and now it’s time to channel that respect into a vision for progress and harmony,” Oborevwori said.

Governor Oborevewori stressed the importance of inclusivity, noting that Arenyeka’s leadership would be vital in bridging divides and preparing the party for future challenges, particularly the 2027 general elections.

The thanksgiving service also featured a sermon from Revd. Dr. Sylvester Ogheneakpobo, Lead Pastor of Avenue Baptist Church, who spoke on the importance of gratitude and integrity in leadership. He encouraged leaders to remain faithful and grounded in their principles.

On his part Arenyeka thanked the governor and other party faithfuls stating that the event was not only a recognition of his new position but also a demonstration of the strong support and trust placed in him by the PDP and the people of Delta State.

Others the key figures who attended the service were former Member of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu, Warri Federal Lawmaker Thomas Ereyitomi, former senator, James Manger and other influential state leaders.
