Oborevwori Donates 31 Vehicles to Police
Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has donated 31 operational vehicles to the police and other security agencies to strengthen joint security efforts in the state. The vehicles, which include 23 pickups and 8 Sienna wagons, are part of “Operation Delta Sweep,” a security initiative aimed at tackling crimes such as kidnapping, illegal oil bunkering, and cultism.
During the handover in Asaba on Monday, November 18, Oborevwori emphasized that the donation was a response to growing insecurity and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to enhancing safety. “Without security, meaningful development cannot take place,” he said, adding that the vehicles would support daily patrols, especially during the festive period.
The Governor also praised the Nigeria Police Force’s “Safe School Program,” which protects educational institutions from violence, and commended the leadership of the state’s police commissioner and other security agencies.
Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, thanked Oborevwori for his support and assured that the new vehicles would improve operational efficiency. He also praised the governor for effectively managing recent protests in the state.
