NNPCL Insists It Purchased Petrol from Dangote Refinery at ₦898 per Litre

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reaffirmed that it bought petrol from the Dangote Refinery at ₦898 per liter, despite Dangote’s denial of the earlier claim.

NNPCL’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, in a statement on Monday maintained this position after Dangote urged Nigerians to ignore NNPCL’s “malicious statement” and wait for the government’s technical sub-committee to announce the official pricing for crude sales to local refineries.

Soneye confirming the purchase price of N898 per liter, added that domestic pump prices are now driven by market forces, with estimated prices ranging from N950.22 in Lagos to N1,019.22 in Borno State.

NNPCL also confirmed it is currently paying Dangote Refinery in dollars for September’s petrol supply, with naira-based transactions set to begin on October 1.
