Dangote Refinery Denies N898 per Litre Fuel Pricing Claim

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has dismissed recent claims that it sells Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at N898 per litre to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL).

The company, through a statement from its Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer Anthony Chiejina, described the claim as misleading and aimed at undermining its recent achievements in improving Nigeria’s energy situation.

The statement urged Nigerians to disregard the misleading information and await an official announcement from the Technical Sub-Committee on Naira-based crude sales to local refineries, appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This announcement is expected to clarify pricing and will commence on October 1, 2024.

Chiejina also noted that Dangote Petroleum sold products to NNPCL in dollars, resulting in significant cost savings compared to current import prices. The company assured Nigerians that fuel will be available across all local government areas to resolve the ongoing fuel scarcity.
