APC Issues Ultimatum To Lawmaker For Endorsing Gov Oborevwori

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has given the member representing Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency, Francis Ejiroghene Waive, seven days to explain why he openly endorsed the state governor, Sheriff Oborevwori for a second term in office or face potential suspension.

Warri Sentinel gathered that the party’s leadership, led by the state APC Chairman Omeni Sobotie, has summoned Waive to appear before a disciplinary panel. Governor Oborevwori is a member of the rival Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a letter dated September 15, 2024 the APC criticized Waive’s endorsement as “gross anti-party activity.” The letter, titled “Gross Anti-Party Activity By Your Overt Endorsement Of Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori As Governor For A Second Term In A Viral Video Post,” condemned Waive’s actions as damaging to the party’s image and contrary to its constitution.

Meanwhile, an APC chieftain, speaking anonymously, revealed that Waive is prepared to face any consequences from this situation and is willing to leave the party if necessary to pursue his third-term ambitions in 2027.
