Minister Vows 24/7 Power Before Tinubu’s Tenure Ends

Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, says Nigerians will enjoy full, uninterrupted electricity before President Bola Tinubu leaves office. Speaking at the commissioning of a 15 MVA injection substation in Lagos, he noted improvements in power generation, transmission, and distribution.

He also mentioned key milestones including an increase in installed generation capacity to 14GW, record peak output of 5,801 MW, and over $2 billion in new investments since the passage of the Electricity Act 2023, which decentralised the sector.

While admitting that distribution challenges persist, Adelabu pledged to work with DisCos to improve supply reliability and affordability across the country.
