I Will Not Tolerate Bad Contractors – Oborevwori

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, has warned contractors that his administration will impose strict sanctions on those delivering substandard work.

Oborevwori stated that his decision to personally inspect projects was due to unsatisfactory reports from previous evaluations. He emphasized that road inspections would be a priority this year to ensure the delivery of high-quality infrastructure. “There is no contract work that l will not go and inspect. If you do a bad work, we will not pay you. Even if we paid you, the site engineer will be in trouble.

“This government will not tolerate a situation where site engineers connive with contractors to deliver sub-standard projects.

“If you want to please me or be my friend as a contractor, do a good job; if you don’t do a good job as a contractor, you can’t be my friend,” he said.

The Governor also highlighted his commitment to inspecting projects across all 25 local government areas, stressing that contractors who fail to meet deadlines or report to sites would face contract revocation.

He reiterated that his administration would focus on maximizing the dry season for construction, aiming to complete and commission several projects in the coming months.

Oborevwori praised the contractor behind the 2-kilometer road to the 63 Brigade Barracks in Aboh-Ogwashi, noting the project’s swift completion within three months. He also inspected other key projects, including the Okpanam-Ibusa bypass, Asaba International Airport’s perimeter fence, and Kwekagbor Layout.
