Group Threatens Recall of Anioma Lawmaker

A group of concerned citizens from Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency has issued a harsh criticism of their representative in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ngozi Okolie, citing what they describe as a “catalogue of disappointments” during his time in office. The group, known as the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency Concerned Citizens, has warned that they may initiate a recall process unless significant improvements are made.

In a statement released on Tuesday, January 7, the group expressed their dissatisfaction with Okolie’s performance across several key areas, including his lack of visibility in the constituency, failure to bring development projects, and poor engagement with the people he represents.

The statement, titled “Observation Note on Hon. Ngozi Lawrence Okolie: A Scorecard of Dismal Failure,” signed by Jude Nkemchor, Coordinator, and Mr. Christian Okeleke, Secretary of the Concerned Citizens of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency.

Warri Sentinel gathered that Okolie has been virtually absent from the constituency and has failed to attend community events or provide updates on his activities in the National Assembly.

They further highlighted that since his election, Okolie has not initiated or completed any significant development projects or programmes, leaving the constituency with no visible improvements in areas such as infrastructure, education, and healthcare.

Criticizing Okolie’s leadership style, Nkemchor noted that “his attitude to leadership appears to be one of arrogance and self-centredness, prioritizing personal interests over the collective good of the people.”

He concluded by hammering on the need for accountable, selfless and committed representation in order to engender development in Aniocha/Oshimili region.
