Fuel Prices Surge in Warri, Okpe, Uvwie Amidst Public Transport Disruptions

Residents of Warri and its environs, Delta State, are still grappling with the sharp rise in fuel prices which has triggered widespread disruption of movement within the oil city and its environs, Warri Sentinel has gathered.

The hike has led to a significant shortage of petrol, with many residents stranded as public transport operators, including tricycle riders, have protested by blocking roads and refusing to convey passengers to their destinations due to the soaring fuel price.

In a drive through major roads across Warri, Okpe and Uvwie Local Government areas on Thursday, our news team observed that the situation has worsened forcing many to turn to the black market where prices are markedly higher. Vehicular and human movement have also markedly been reduced as most residents continue to groan under the current price regime.

Feedback from Nigerians on Warri Sentinel social media handles highlights the severity of the crisis. In Ubeji town and Airport road, both in Warri South LGA, PMS price starts at 1200 per litre, Fuel stations across Jakpa Road in Uvwie and Jeddo in Okpe LGAs sell at 1,250. Whereas it sells at 897 Naira at NNPC stations and 970 naira at Rainoil stations across Delta State.
