DESOPADEC Staff Faces Life-Threatening Medical Crisis

The life of Mrs. Deborah Edah, a devoted staff member of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) and a passionate mobilizer of Coastal Women for Community Development, hangs in the balance, Warri Sentinel understands.

Her daughter, Miss Amireloritse Ologho, has issued a heartfelt appeal for immediate financial assistance to save her mother, who is in desperate need of a kidney transplant and subsequent spinal surgery.

Her brother, Odoyo Edah, who spoke to Warri Sentinel, revealed that it all started with malaria symptoms and that she did not undergo an organ test when she initially tested for malaria. It was only after a proper diagnosis by Dr. (Mrs) Caroline Ajuyah, Consultant/Cardiologist, Divine Charity Clinic and Medical Laboratory service, GRA Warri that they discovered it was a kidney problem.

Mrs. Deborah is currently undergoing dialysis three times a week at Mount Horeb Hospital. When asked about financial support from DESOPADEC, Odoyo mentioned that they received some funds from the commission, but more funds are needed as the surgery and healing process will take time.

According to him, Mrs. Edah needs to be urgently transferred to Abuja for the life-saving kidney transplant, and the financial burden of this procedure, coupled with the need for spinal surgery, is beyond what her family can bear.

The civil servant, who is over 50 years old, has dedicated her life to serving her community and uplifting the voices of women in the coastal region. Her work with DESOPADEC, where she has tirelessly championed the development of coastal communities and the empowerment of women, has earned her a place in the hearts of many. Yet Deborah finds herself in a situation that she cannot fight alone.

Her family is now appealing to the public and the government for help to ensure that she receives the medical care she urgently needs.
