Former Police PRO Adejobi Appointed Deputy Commissioner in Delta State
The Nigeria Police Force has promoted Olumuyiwa Adejobi to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police and assigned him to lead operations in Delta State, a region considered one of the country’s most sensitive security zones.
Adejobi, who previously served as the Force Public Relations Officer, was decorated with his new rank following approval by the Police Service Commission. His redeployment, police authorities say, is part of routine administrative procedures within the Force.
Contrary to recent media speculations suggesting a controversial removal, the Nigeria Police Force clarified that Adejobi’s redeployment is a routine administrative decision, reflecting both career advancement and strategic necessity. The Force emphasized that the change was neither disciplinary nor unexpected.
Senior officers say Adejobi’s experience in public communication, operational planning, and community policing made him a suitable choice for the Delta Command posting.
