FCT Police Debunk Alleged Assassination Attempt on Naval Officer

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has dismissed circulating reports alleging that Naval Lieutenant AM Yarima narrowly escaped an assassination attempt in Kubwa. The viral posts claimed the officer was trailed by unknown men in two unmarked Hilux vans.

Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh said the account was fabricated and not backed by any official report within the FCT. She urged residents to disregard the claims, warning that such misinformation can inflame tension and mislead the public.

She advised residents of the territory to verify security-related stories before sharing them, especially those originating from social media platforms. The Command reassured the public that no such incident had taken place.

Adeh encouraged citizens to remain observant and promptly report any suspicious movements, noting that collective vigilance remains crucial to public safety.
