Egbo Dissolves 2025 Revenue Committees to Prevent Double Taxation

The Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun Jaro Omovudu Egbo, has ordered the immediate dissolution of all 2025 Revenue Committees and Revenue Contractors/Consultants within the council area. This directive aims to uphold the rule of law and avoid double taxation.

In a statement released by the Secretary to the Local Government, Pastor Goodluck I. Unuavworho, the decision was made during the final Executive Council meeting for 2025 held on December 30. Chairmen and Secretaries of the dissolved committees have been instructed to hand over all Local Government properties in their possession to the Treasurer, Mrs. Mercy Morkah, without delay.

Chairman Egbo advised residents, traders, landlords, and business operators not to make any revenue payments to committees or contractors for 2026 until new committees are officially constituted. He assured the public that a formal announcement will be made once the new 2026 Revenue Committees are established and revenue collection begins.

For those eager to pay their 2026 revenue early, the council instructed that payments should be made directly at the Ughelli North Local Government Council Secretariat’s Revenue Office Unit, into the official Local Government account.
