EFCC Grills Former Delta Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has invited Ifeanyi Okowa, the former governor of Delta State for questioning over allegations of misappropriation and embezzlement of state funds during his time in office.
Okowa, who held office from May 2015 to May 2023, is being interrogated at the EFCC’s Zonal Office in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Warri Sentinel learnt.
While his administration was noted for its development initiatives, particularly in infrastructure and social programs, it also faced scrutiny regarding financial management and accountability.
His supporters are advocating for a thorough and transparent investigation, while critics are seizing the moment to call for increased accountability among regional leaders.
The EFCC has not yet released an official statement confirming the details of his arrest.
