Edo Assembly Approves N100bn Loan for Infrastructure
The Edo State House of Assembly has approved a N100 billion loan request by Governor Monday Okpebholo to fund infrastructural projects across the state. The approval followed a formal request submitted through the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor, specifying that the loan would be sourced from First Bank Nigeria Plc.
The loan is intended to provide financing for contractors involved in various development projects, aimed at upgrading infrastructure, improving transportation, creating jobs, and boosting economic growth under the SHINE Development Framework.
Lawmakers unanimously supported the loan during the Committee of the Whole session, emphasizing its importance in completing ongoing projects. The Speaker, Blessing Agbebaku, directed the Clerk to forward the approved resolution to the governor for immediate action.
