Delta Police Arrest Officers in Viral Cash Video

The Delta State Police Command has arrested officers seen in a viral video counting bundles of cash inside a patrol van belonging to Area Command Asaba. The clip, widely shared on social media, triggered outrage and suspicion that the money came from extortion.

Police spokesman Bright Edafe confirmed on Tuesday that the personnel were immediately tracked and taken before the Commissioner of Police. He said the incident embarrassed the Command and required urgent disciplinary measures.

Two senior officers have received queries, while two inspectors remain in detention pending an orderly room trial. Edafe assured that sanctions will follow the conclusion of the Force’s internal disciplinary process.
