“Delta Is No-Go Area for Opposition” —Oborevwori
Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, says the scale of development projects undertaken by his administration has made the state politically difficult terrain for opposition parties ahead of the 2027 elections.
The governor spoke on Thursday while commissioning the 4.8-kilometre Oko–Amakom/Oko-Obiokpu/Oko-Anala Road in Oshimili South Local Government Area. He maintained that visible infrastructure across communities has strengthened public confidence in the government.
Oborevwori recalled that he secured victory in 21 of the state’s 25 local government areas during the 2023 governorship election, noting that the projects executed since taking office have further consolidated the ruling party’s influence.
He added that the newly inaugurated road would improve access for farmers, particularly during the rainy season, making it easier to transport agricultural produce to markets while supporting rural economic activities.
The governor also commended the contractor for delivering the project on schedule and expressed confidence that other ongoing road projects across the state would be completed within the planned timeframe.
