Delta House of Assembly Suspends Lawmaker Over Misconduct
The Delta State House of Assembly has suspended Hon. Chukudi Dafe, the lawmaker representing Ukwuani Constituency, over allegations of gross misconduct.
The suspension, lasting for 14 legislative days, was proposed by Majority Leader Engr. Emeka Nwaobi of Aniocha North and seconded by Chief Whip Hon. Perkins Umukoro.
The motion was unanimously passed following a voice vote by Speaker of the House, Emomotimi Guwor but no details were provided regarding the specific nature of the allegations against Dafe.
The Speaker also stated that a committee would be set up to investigate the issue. Despite calls for greater transparency, the Assembly’s leadership has kept further information under wraps, leading to widespread public speculation.
