Delta Govt Warns Developers Against Encroaching Kwale Free Trade Zone
The Delta State Government has warned property developers around the Kwale Free Trade Zone against encroaching on land designated for the project. The caution comes as the area attracts a new wave of investors, with authorities aiming to protect the long-term vision for the initiative.
In a statement signed by Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Dr. Kingsley Eze Emu, the State Taskforce on Recovery of Government Lands has been tasked with safeguarding the project’s boundaries and removing any illegal structures, regardless of their stage of completion.
Dr. Emu noted that the removal of encroachments is in addition to other legal remedies the government may pursue against violators. The move underscores the state’s commitment to enforcing land-use regulations and protecting public investments.
The government also urged those occupying other government lands illegally to vacate immediately, warning that such actions, which undermine the common good, will not be tolerated.
