Delta Govt Rehabilitates Long-Neglected Kokori Road
Delta State Commissioner for Works, Comrade Reuben Izeze, has linked the ongoing ₦12 billion rehabilitation of a major road in Ethiope East Local Government Area to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s commitment to reviving Kokori community.
The 35.32-kilometre road project, according to Izeze, aligns with the governor’s “Opportunities for All” agenda and addresses decades of infrastructure neglect in the oil-producing area known for its high-grade crude.
He explained that the scope of work includes stabilisation of failed sections, asphalt overlay, drainage reconstruction, and culvert replacement, noting steady progress by the contractor, Levante.
The commissioner added that the project will ease transportation, support agricultural activities, and stimulate commerce within the largely agrarian community.
During a separate inspection, Izeze also assessed ongoing work at Okowa Crescent in Ughelli, expressing satisfaction with the construction and indicating that only minor adjustments were required.
