Delta Activist Wanted for Attack on BEDC Staff, Ignoring Bail Terms

Self acclaimed activist, Victor Ojei, also known as WongBox, is currently wanted by the Delta State Police Command after failing to return for further investigation following his release on bail. He had been arrested on August 14, 2025, for assault, threat to life, and acts of violence, in violation of sections 355, 86, and 249 of the Criminal Code.

The police say the case began on May 29, 2025, when BEDC staff arrived at Ojei’s residence on Anyameluhor Street, Asaba, to disconnect power due to an unpaid electricity bill of N4.87 million. Ojei allegedly attacked them with a cutlass, forcing them to reconnect the power supply under threat.

A pregnant BEDC staff member was reportedly injured during the confrontation and received medical treatment for over two weeks. A video shows Ojei threatening to harm the BEDC team, claiming his status as a politician and warning them not to return without permission.

The police confirmed that Ojei has since ignored all requests to report back for questioning, and efforts are ongoing to locate and arrest him.
