Adeyanju Vows to Vote Tinubu If Obi Becomes Opposition Candidate
Deji Adeyanju has stated that he would vote for President Bola Tinubu if Peter Obi becomes the opposition’s presidential candidate in 2027. He made this known during an appearance on Channels Television when asked about his recent criticism of Obi.
Obi’s legal team had issued a notice threatening to sue Adeyanju over alleged defamatory comments. Adeyanju responded that he was ready to defend himself in court and criticized Obi for allegedly enabling online attacks by his supporters.
He questioned Obi’s democratic record and said his supporters often treat criticism as betrayal. He argued that political spaces should be open to dissent and not controlled by what he called “online mobs.”
Adeyanju also listed past candidates he supported, including Olusegun Obasanjo in 1999 and Goodluck Jonathan in 2011 and 2015, saying he has always voted for candidates he believed were credible.
