Man Crushed to Death by Trailer in Port Harcourt

A man was killed on Friday in Port Harcourt after he was struck by two vehicles while attempting to cross a busy road to attend Friday prayers.

The incident occurred around 2:05pm at Nkpolu Junction along the East-West Road in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State. Witnesses said the man was trailing a group of fellow worshippers when he was hit by a speeding SUV.

Before help could arrive, a trailer travelling at high speed also ran over the victim, killing him instantly.

The incident led to a brief protest by nearby Muslim faithful, who blocked the highway until police arrived to restore order. The man’s body was later taken away for burial in line with Islamic customs.
