Defence HQ Warns Retired Soldiers Over Protest at Finance Ministry

The Defence Headquarters has cautioned retired soldiers protesting at the Ministry of Finance to vacate the premises, declaring their action illegal and disruptive to government operations.

According to Major General Markus Kangye, the protest over Security Debarment Allowance (SDA) is based on a misunderstanding, as payments are being made based on the applicable salary structure at the time of each soldier’s retirement.

Kangye emphasized that demands for benefits based on a newer wage chart by those who retired earlier are not valid under current policy.

He urged the ex-servicemen to respect lawful procedures and avoid further illegal demonstrations.
