Cultural Confluence: Warri Unites Scotland and England

Peterborough was overtaken by love as Otsaye Kirk tied the nuptial knot with his heart throb Lauren Cox last Saturday before family, friends and well wishers in a picturesque Itsekiri traditional ceremony (tẹmọṣí).

Otsaye is the son of Mr. Peter Kirk of Scoland and Martina Kirk (neé Ogharandukun) of Warri Kingdom, Delta State. Nigeria .
Lauren is the daughter of Ron Cox and Collette Cox of Lincolnshire, East Midland, England.

However, what makes this marriage so unique is the theme of cultural confluence displayed by the parents of the bride and groom. Usually, the ceremony is conducted in the culture of the bride as we see across Africa but in this case, the ceremony was conducted in honour of the culture of the mother of the groom. Everyone was happy to attend and learn a thing or two about the beautiful and colourful Itsekiri traditional marriage ceremony.
