Court Fixes November 20 for Judgment in Nnamdi Kanu Trial
The legal battle involving detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu moved into a crucial phase Friday as the Federal High Court in Abuja fixed November 20 for judgment in his terrorism case. The court took the decision after Kanu, now defending himself, opted to challenge the validity of the charges rather than present his defence within the allotted six days.
His motion argued that the law forming the basis of the charges is no longer in force, raising fresh questions around the government’s case. Justice James Omotosho adjourned proceedings after hearing submissions, with the outcome expected to determine Kanu’s fate after years of detention.
